Baptism

Hello,I'm so happy you came for this discussion o f baptism.

Did you know that there are various aspects of baptisms? There are at least three types of baptisms.
  • There is a first baptism unto acceptance of the Messiah, the Son of God.
  • Baptism unto repentance
  • Ritual baptism
  • Baptism for purification
Let's start with baptism unto acceptance/believing in the Son of God. In Romans Chapter 6: 1, Paul is talking to the Gentiles about Baptism into the Messiah and how it relates to sin.
" What shall we say then ? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Verse 2: Certainly not! How shall we who died in sin live any longer in it? Verse 3: Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into the Messiah were baptized into His death?" We will discuss verse 3 another time.
In another scripture the Messiah is speaking with his disciples telling them the steps in making disciples of the nations. Nations is another word for Gentiles. The messiah tells them in Matthew:28: 18-20:
"All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; an lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Clearly the Messiah is telling them the steps for being a disciple. First go baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, then teach them to observe all things commanded. Therefore baptism is the first step in accepting the Son of God then after is learning what was commanded, if you want to be a true disciple of the Messiah.
See how the Holy Spirit guides you with that and let me hear your opinions please.
We will continue with the other aspects of baptisms next time. Take tuned.
