Truth, According to The Most High in Heaven
Hello again, I'm so happy to have you back for our discussion on Truth.
What is truth? I'm talking according to scriptures and therefore God, what is truth? Is truth what we were taught the real truth? Well, lets hear from the bible what truth is.
In the Strong's Concordance, there are several definitions for truth:
Hebrew dictionary, #571: stability; certainly, assured , establishment, faithful, right, sure, verity.
Greek dictionary, #225: true, verity.
All over the bible, truth is being spoken of in many ways, here are some examples:
Psalms33:4...For the word of the Lord is right, And all His work is done in truth.
Proverbs3:3...Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and men.
Isaiah:10:20...But will depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
Mark12:14...we know that You are true, and care about no one; for You do not regard the person of men, but teach the way of God in truth.
Truth is extremely important to the Most High in heaven and is very evident in Romans1:18, where Paul says: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.
In Psalms119, one of my favorite psalms, verse 142 is very interesting, meditate on this one for awhile, then see where the Holy Spirit leads you,
Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth.
What law is this psalms talking about? Remember in my first blog when I was explaining about the bible and talked about the books in the old and new testament, I had mentioned that the first five books of Moses was called, by some, the torrah, which simple means the book of laws or instructions. Well isn't this interesting , if you are able to see the connection here that is. Meditate on it.
The last scripture I would like to leave you with is also interesting.
Paul says in 2nd Timothy 3:7 -9:
"...always learning and never able to come to the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres (Ex.7:11-12,22;
8:7; 9:11) resisted Moses, so do these also resist truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning
faith, but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was."
Food for the soul.
See you next time.
