The Unforgiven Sin continued

Hello friends, I'm glad once again that you are joining in this discussion.
All the glory belongs to the Heavenly Father and to His Son.

We last spoke on blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and that some people call it the unforgivable sin. An unforgivable sin seems to be a sin that you are not able to get forgiveness for.

In a discussion I had with a bible study colleague, we had concluded that not much information is given in the scriptures on this topic. He was of the opinion that if an individual's sin could not be forgiven, it is because the individual did not desire forgiveness. This assumes that the individual knows truth, he knows repentance is an option, but still reject God and therefore the truth.
He further explains that a person has to have the knowledge of what they did with no intention of repenting because they don't want to be forgiven. In other words, that person has reached a state where they have completely rejected the Father and don't want any relationship with the Father... they are just not interested.

Furthermore the scriptures doesn't say that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit was unforgivable, it says it would not be forgiven. (Mat 12:31-32 )

To conclude on this issue, blasphemy is not something that can't be forgiven, rather it won't be forgiven because the person doesn't want to repent and/or haven't asked for forgiveness and has rejected the Most High and therefore truth according to what God says is truth.

Here is a link to another opinion on unpardonable or unforgivable sin.

Please reread this discussion, then go to the link, thereafter contemplate and reflect on this and see where the Holy Spirit leads you. Please share your opinions on this matter, especially since there is not much information given on this matter in the scriptures.

Some more food for the soul. We'll talk next time.
