The Unforgiveable Sin
Hello, and greetings to you all joining in this discussion.
The first thing I would like to say is that in Mathew 12:31-32, it says, "Therefore I say unto you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men." It further continues to exemplify what was said in verse 31 when it says, "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgive him, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come." That pretty much means never.
Lets consider for a moment why blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven men , or rather, why it says Holy Spirit. What or who is the Holy Spirit and why is it so much more important than the Son of Man/God. Well it has been said that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and the power of God. In John 14:15-17, the Messiah is speaking to Philip saying:
" If you love Me, keep my commandments. And I will give you another Helper, that He may abide
with you forever 'the Spirit of Truth", whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him
nor knows Him, but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you."
It is also known that the Holy Spirit is The Spirit of Truth, and with simple deduction, a part of God. Hence the importance of the Holy Spirit.
Anyway with that being said, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is blasphemy against The Most High in Heaven and therefore truth. You cannot have a relationship with The Most High if you don't acknowledge His truth, plain and simple.
Notice the scripture doesn't say it is an unforgivable sin but it says, not forgiven of men, there is a major difference. Meditate on this for a moment and see if you can receive it. I have more to discuss so please join us next time for more food for the soul.. This is important for us to share. And I will love any comments and insights on this, once you have meditated on it in truth.
Until next time....
