Apostle Paul to the Gentiles

We're back again...

The last time we spoke I stopped at Colossians 1:27. Where Paul is talking to the Gentiles concerning The Son of God. Paul is telling the people or the church of Colosse, his concerns for them. The mystery amongst the Gentiles is: having the Messiah in them and the hope of his glory. Mystery basically means: a deeper meaning. Glory can mean: dignity, honor, praise, worship. Just as well, the meaning of hope is: to anticipate (usually with pleasure); expectation, or confidence.
Having the Messiah in you means to accept that He is the only begotten Son of the Most High (God), believing that he died for our sins, although they were unworthy then as we are now, and He didn't die for us to continue in sin, also, He was resurrected by the holy spirit and now sits at the right hand of the Most High in Heaven. Further more, when the Messiah came in the flesh he didn't sin, not even the smallest sin, if there is such a thing. And last but not least the Son of God walked in righteousness and truth, therefore, back to what I was saying, He never sinned. The Messiah came in the flesh , hence, He was tempted in the flesh, just like we are tempted, but yet still never sinned. He has set the example for us to show us we can also be without sin. By no means is this an easy task though, might even be impossible for most of us, but because he walked in righteousness and truth He was able to withstand sin.
It is most important for us to understand what truth is. The next time we talk we will discuss truth. Truth according to the Word and what The Most High says.
I hope your soul is yearning for the truth.
See you next time.

Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles

So glad you returned for more bible stories.

Okay, now that we know the story of the Israelites and the Gentiles we can now move forward and discuss Paul and his ministering to the Gentiles.
As we know Paul is an Israelite, He himself told us that in Philippians 3:4-5. Paul also tells us he is an apostle to the Gentiles in Rom.11:13. So hopefully I have established the fact that Paul is an Israelite and He is also the apostle to the Gentiles.
Paul wrote to the Gentiles in many books of the bible, from the book of Romans through to the book of Philemon, that's a total of thirteen books out of twenty- seven in the New Testament I think Paul really takes his ministry seriously, trying to get through to the Gentiles.
Paul speaks to the Gentiles in Rom. 3:29-30 telling the Gentiles that God is not only the God of the Israelites, but also the God of the Gentiles, saying, "Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith."

Most definitely if Paul is telling the Gentiles that God is also the God of the Gentiles, he has to be preaching the Son of God as well, because as we know God tells us that no man shall come to Him except through His only begotten Son. So Paul is ernestly trying to convert the hearts of the Gentiles to rely upon His Son to be saved through His Glory.
"To them (the Gentiles) God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of the mystery among the Gentiles: which is the Messiah in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27).

Meditate upon this verse until the next time we talk.
Stay tuned.....

The Story of the Gentiles

I'm so glad you came here to join in the discussions of the Gentiles.

The story of the Gentiles goes way, way, back to the Old Testament. I won't go there because the truth of the matter is that the Gentiles are anyone who are not from the house of Israel.
Remember the story of the children of Israel, my last blog, well if you understood what the story was saying, about Jacob, being the son of Isaac, who is the son of Abraham, and his name being changed to Israel. Remember Israel (Jacob ) had twelve sons and those sons had children and so forth, hence, the Children of Israel (Jacob), or the Israelites, or the House of Israel.
Simply put, the Gentiles are every nation outside the Children of Israel (Jacob). The nations which are not a part of the nation of Israel.
The word Gentiles means in short : heathens or the nations, that is, outside of God and his covenant. At least that is how it is used in the bible.

As we know, there is a man by the name of Paul who is an apostle to the Son of God and was given the office to minister to the Gentiles and to convert them to followers and believers of the Son of God...

Stay tuned for this story, and once again I hope you are hungry...

The Story of the Israelites and the Gentiles

Were back again for more bible stories.

So far we have shared that the bible speaks to two different sets of people. The Israelites and the Gentiles. Okay, I'm going to first tell you the story of the Israelites and why the bible speaks of them, and to them. First I'd like to say from studying the scriptures, that I have the understanding that the majority of the bible is speaking of Israel, the people, not the county, especially the Old Testament. The New Testament as well, is speaking to the children of Israel, but in many ways it's speaking to the Gentiles.

There was a man whose name is Abraham. Well his name was originally Abram, until one day "when Abram was ninety-nine years old, God appeared to him and said to him, 'I am Almighty God, walk before me and be blameless."
And I will make My covenant
between Me and you, and will
multiply you exceedingly. Gen.17:2
At this point Abraham fell on his face, and God spoke with him saying,
As for me, behold, My covenant
is with you, and you shall be a father
of many nations.
No longer shall your name be
called Abram, but your name shall
be Abraham; for I have made you a
father of many nations. Gen 17:4-5
God then makes a covenant with Abraham and Himself, as well as his descendants after him, a covenant forever, "to be God to you and your descendants after you."
Abraham had a son with his wife Sarah and they called him Isaac. Whan Isaac grew up he got married to Rebekah and they had two sons, one was called Esau and the other was called Jacob, and when Jacob grew up he married Leah and Rachel. Jacob had twelve sons in all. Jacob's name was then changed to Israel. God had changed Jacob's name saying, "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and men, and have prevailed." Gen.32:28.
Hence the name, the twelve tribes of Israel, the twelve sons and Families of Israel (Jacob).

Stay tuned for the continuing story, of the Gentiles.
Food for the soul.

Who Are the Natural Olivebranches and Who Were Grafted In?

We're back for the conclusion of the olive branches.

We left off where Paul was talking to the gentiles and he was telling them about the natural branches which were broken off because of unbelief and the other branches which were grafted in because of faith. Paul also warned the grafted-in branches not to boast, because if God didn't spare the natural branches, He may not spare them either. Paul continues by saying:

Therefore consider the
goodness and severity of God:
on those who fell, severity; but
towards you, goodness, if you
continue in His goodness.
Otherwise you also will be cut off. Rom.11:22

Pretty much Paul is telling them that God is just, and if he was severe with the natural he will also be severe with the grafted-in. Now he tells the Gentiles not to boast against the natural branches:
" Do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you." Rom.11:18
Hence, Paul continues his admonishing to the Gentiles, Rom11:24:
"For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?"

Again, Paul tells the Gentiles that, Israel's blindness is only "in part". Let's try to really meditate on this next verse, it's very important. See what you get out of this....
"For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery (deeper meaning), lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in." Rom.11:25

God has a purpose for everything that happens. I leave you with this valuable bible verse to meditate upon and see where the Holy Spirit leads you.
Food for the soul.

The Olive tree and The Branches continued

Hello again! Are you ready for more food?

The last time we spoke I was getting ready to speak about the natural olive branches and the wild olive branches and how they relate to the people in the bible, the Israelites and the Gentiles. So far we had discussed that Israel, the people, has been temporarily set aside but not cast away permanently.

Paul who is an Israelite and the apostle to the Gentiles are speaking to them in Rom. 11:12
" Now if their fall (Israel) is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness." Then Paul continues by saying, "For if their (Israel) being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?" What do we think this means?

Well, let's continue, maybe we could sharpen each other. The story that Paul is about to tell us has to do with a certain set of people who from the beginning were natural branches of the olive tree, and at some point they were broken off because of disobedience/unbelief and another set of people were grafted in among the natural, and with the natural became partakers of the root and the fatness of the olive tree.
Paul then, speaking to the Gentiles, says, "You will say then, 'Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in. Well said, because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty , but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either." Rom. 11.19-21.

Let's stop to meditate on what was just said by Paul.
This is just a little food for the soul. I have more to share about this matter which I think is very important to the subject of " salvation has come to the Gentiles."

Stay with me for the next meditation.

The Olive Tree and Olive Branches

Back for more food. Great! Let's eat.

Hey, have you ever heard the story of the natural and the wild olive branches? Well here is my take on it.

I'm sure you have heard the saying "...salvation has come to the gentiles..." Acts 28:28 and Rom.11:11.

Remember I had shared that the Hebrew word Yeshua means salvation. And by this name is how some people, myself included, know the Son of God. Okay, moving on. It has been said that Israel, not the country, but the people in the bible, are God's speacial treasure (Ps.135:4). In the reference it tells you that 'special treasure' is "His own possession/election".

Paul, who is an Israelite, says he is an apostle to the gentiles, he also asks the question, " Has God cast away his people?" then he answers the question, "Certainly not!" "What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded." We will discuss 'the elect' at another time.

As it is written:

"God has given them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes that they should not see
And ears that they should not hear,
To this very day." Rom. 11:8
Think about this bible verse for a minute...

The next time we speak again, we will reason this through. By the way, this is quite interesting, for both the Israelites (natural olive branches) and the gentiles ( wild olive branches).

Stay tuned so we can reason together and share more food.
Hope you're hungry!

The true vine and the branches

Hello there, I'm glad you came back for more food.

I would like to start off with a quote from the Son of God from the book of John 14:1.
Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

Why do we think that the Messiah told us this? Lets probe the bible a bit.... well the bible says that no man shall come to God except though his Son,(Jn.14:6). Therefore if we believe in God we must also believe in His Son.
Have you ever heard about the Vine and the branches? It is spoken off also in the book of John chapter 15. " I am the true vine (this is another title for the Son of God) and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit."

If we understand the concept of growing trees we would understand this bible verse. The more you prune a tree that bears, is the more that tree is going to bear again. In this case the vine is the Messiah and the branches are the people who believes in the Messiah and hence, follows Him. Most of us who believes in the Messiah will understand that without the Son of God in our lives we will be barren like a dried up tree and therefore not have God in us either.

The Father in Heaven is great and He wants us to be fruitful. Thats why He gave us His Son.
We're talking agriculture now . Stay tuned for the Story of the olive tree and the olive branch.
